2016 Annual Farm Show
The Centennial Shake is one of the many highlights waiting to
greet
visitors to the 100th PA Farm Show beginning at noon on
Friday, January 8, 2016 and running through January 16, 2016. The closely
guarded mystery flavor is created by the PA Dairymen’s Association. The Farm
Show is the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the nation, with nearly
6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibits. Please
be sure to check out my interview with former Agriculture Secretary George Greig. For
information regarding the upcoming event, please visit

2015 Senate Accomplishments
This past year, the Senate of Pennsylvania had many legislative
accomplishments. Among them, a historic vote on property tax
elimination. Many other important issues still need to be addressed,
however, the Senate certainly has had several pieces of legislation
become law. Please be sure to check out 2015 in Review at

2016 Calendars – Helpful and Beautiful
Treat yourself to a
copy of the Pennsylvania
Game Commission’s beautiful 2016
Pennsylvania Wildlife Calendar or the
Birds of Pennsylvania Calendar both full of helpful information and
striking photographs.
Season stickers, wildlife tidbits, and major fishing season details
accompany an overview of the PA Game Commission and its
six regional offices in the Wildlife Calendar. Enjoy agency
biologist’s introductions for each bird profiled, timely nature notes,
special birding event listings, holiday schedules, and moon phases in
the Birds of PA Calendar.
Proceeds from each calendar support wildlife in Pennsylvania,
focusing on preservation, conservation, and management of the state’s
wildlife resources and habitats.

The Department of Revenue’s annual Property Tax Rent Rebate Program
provides school property tax relief for many citizens across this
Commonwealth. For 2015 taxes, the Department of Revenue will be releasing
the PA-1000 in January, which will be available
here.
My office is always here to help residents complete the form. If you need
assistance be please sure to stop by my office. We will have copies of the
PA-1000 at the end of February.
In addition to the state rebate, several school districts also provide
relief to eligible residents. To find out if you qualify, please contact
your respective school district. Several districts have already released the
2015 rebate form and others will have them soon.
East Bangor Church Celebrates 150 Years
Last week, I awarded the East Bangor United Methodist Community Church a
citation of recognition for celebrating its 150th Anniversary. Throughout its glorious history, the church has been blessed
with a succession of pastors whose guidance and leadership have helped it to
grow and flourish. Congratulations to Rev. Dave Goss, I wish you the best over
the many upcoming years!
