100TH Annual Pennsylvania Farm Show

Last weekend I stopped by the 100th Annual Farm Show and interviewed several local exhibitors from Monroe and Northampton counties for my “Legislative Report” program. I spoke with folks from the Frailey Farm from Stroudsburg and JMP Cattle Company from East Stroudsburg, along with Kerr's Windy Hill from Bangor. The exhibition runs until tomorrow.

Scavello, American Legion Offer Monthly Veterans Assistance Days at Tannersville District Office

On the second Tuesday of each month, the American Legion holds a Veterans Assistance Day at our Tannersville district office.

The district office is located at 2989 Route 611, Suite 103 in Tannersville.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a service officer with the American Legion Pennsylvania Department will be on site to assist veterans with issues including: compensation and pension claims, education benefits, enrollment in the VA health care system, burial and survivor benefits, state benefits, and obtaining military personnel and medical records.

Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services. Please contact the Tannersville office to schedule an appointment at 570-620-4326.

PennDOT Adds State Plow Truck Tracking

In addition to the various information provided by PennDOT on their new 511PA website, state plow trucks can now be located to assist your winter driving plans. If you need to travel during the wintery season, go to 511PA and click on “Plow Trucks” above the map to see where trucks are currently plowing.

Riverside Rehabilitation Holding Book Drop-off for Kids

Riverside Rehabilitation is gearing up for a community service initiative this spring. May is “Better Hearing and Speech” month, and this year Riverside Rehabilitation will focus on educating families about early speech and language development and its connection to literacy development. Riverside will hold three events to help parents teach and build early literacy skills and will distribute the collected books to the children in attendance (infant through age 6).

Please drop off new and gently used picture books at our Tannersville District office located at 2989 Route 611, Suite 103 Tannersville, PA 18372.
