Red Cross Telethon Promo

I encourage you to tune in to this year's American Red Cross of the Poconos Annual Telethon on Blue Ridge Channel 13 this coming Sunday, March 5 from 3 PM to 8 PM.

The American Red Cross Pocono Mountains Chapter continues to serve hundreds of individuals affected by natural disasters and victims of other catastrophic incidents within our communities. I want to thank our many committed Red Cross volunteers and staff for their tireless work.

March 14: Scavello Hosts FREE A1C Diabetes Screening

On Tuesday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., I will be hosting a FREE A1C Diabetes Screening at my Pen Argyl District Office (2 N. Robinson Avenue, Pen Argyl) in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network.

The A1C test is a blood test that provides information about a person’s average levels of blood glucose, also called blood sugar, over the past three months. Sometimes called the hemoglobin A1c, HbA1c, or glycohemoglobin test, the A1C test is the primary test used for diabetes management and diabetes research.

Appointments are necessary for this FREE screening. Please call 610-863-1200 to make an appointment.

I want to take this opportunity to recognize Art and Ruth Piancone for their many years of service to the greater Pocono community. Ruth and Art are retiring in June and have worked tirelessly to better the Pocono community through their work with Pocono Alliance and Bridges Out of Poverty. Their efforts have been instrumental in helping alleviate homelessness in the community and equipping individuals with the skills to better provide for themselves and their families. On behalf of the entire community, thank you Art and Ruth for your service. We owe you a debt of gratitude

Senator Scavello
