Honoring Our Nation’s Heroes on Veterans Day

2021 - Veterans Day

Today, we honor the many men and women who have sacrificed much to preserve and defend the freedoms we hold dear – freedoms that we far too often take for granted. Our nation has paid a dear price to protect freedom and make the world a safer place, and we must never forget the individual and collective sacrifices that our men and women in uniform have endured to protect the principles and values that make America the greatest country in the world. I encourage you to take a moment to give thanks and reflect on those who have served our country and those who are currently serving in our nation’s military at home and abroad. They both need and deserve our continued prayers for safety and courage. Many of our best and brightest citizens have volunteered themselves to stand ready to defend our country. We cannot count the immeasurable cost of what our nation’s veterans have given to ensure that you and I remain free.

And while we specifically pause to honor our veterans this “Veterans Day,” I would encourage each and every one of you to make every day “Veterans Day.”

Showing heartfelt appreciation and sincere thanks for those who have served our country should never be something that is relegated to one day out of the year. Develop a mindset of thankfulness and always give thanks to the veterans whom you meet on the street, in church, and throughout our communities.

Happy Veterans Day and God Bless the United States of America.
